I'm the kind of person that needs to be inspired to work out. After years
of spending two hour sessions in a gym with little result, I enjoy having
someone knowledgeable, fun and who knows how to inspire me to get the most
out of my limited workout time.
I met Jennifer and realized that her genuine concern for each
client's individual health and fitness needs and her sense of humor is just
what I need in a trainer. I have some physical limitations ,which would
be easy to use as an excuse, but Jennifer tailors specific exercises to fit
my needs.
I've been working with Jennifer for 7 months and have seen amazing results
in that time. I have never felt stronger or healthier. She is passionate
about fitness and it shows through the energy and enthusiasm she brings to
every session. Her easy going, friendly personality creates a relaxed,
comfortable atmosphere. She makes each workout challenging, creative and
most importantly, fun! She also places a high value on correct form with
each exercise. She motivates me to push past my perceived limits to get
results. I have incredible energy, my balance and flexibility have improved
immensely and I've got great new muscles. If you are serious about changing
your life for the better, Jennifer will lead you every step of the way.

I have been training at CrossFit Decatur well before the name change I started in September 2002. When I started initially I had difficulty with many of the exercises. I couldn't lunge and my sense of balance was not that great. Under the caring guidance of Patrick I am in better condition then when I was in my 30's.
Thank you CrossFit Decatur
Thank you Patrick

REALLY HARD EXERCISE REALLY PAYS OFF!
Hannah and Dana Harris joined Crossfit Decatur on February 20, 2004.
When we walked into Crossfit Decatur in February, 2004, we were greeted by
Eric Willis. We were just looking for a place to run on a treadmill. We
had just moved intown and were going through a very traumatic period in
our lives, totally re-building after selling almost everything we had, and
starting a business. We had basically picked up our lives and our two
kids and come to Decatur to "start over."
From the moment we met Eric, we clicked with him and quickly built a
lasting friendship. He helped us not only in the gym, but in "starting
over" with a new life. He gave us a tool (exercise) which became therapy
for us. He convinced us that instead of spending thousands of dollars on
psychiatric bills and medication, we just needed to work out. Each time
we came in, we grew stronger physically and emotionally. Eric quickly
became not only our trainer, but our counselor and best friend. We have
watched the gym change over the past several years and were excited when
Eric actually became the owner. Even with him owning the place, he has
still remained a constant support to us.
Dana and I have together lost over 150 pounds and gained a lot of self
confidence along the way. We appreciate the staff of Crossfit Decatur and
consider them and the other clients part of our extended family. When we
are not there for various reasons, we miss it because we gain weight and
lose strength, but most importantly, we miss it because we aren't getting
our dose of therapy. We love Crossfit Decatur!

I have exercised at five gyms through the years, but CrossFit Decatur is by far the best. Patrick is the most attentive, knowledgeable, patient trainer I have had. The gym is always so clean. I even gained a number of good friends here. It is the greatest, and it has improved my life!

I started coming to Decatur Fitness about 8 or 9 years ago after a long "layoff" in which I did very little exercising. I decided it was time
to get back in shape, so I began working out with a personal trainer
(usually it was Patrick) and exercising on my own once the gym became
Sonz, I continued with the group training sessions as well as my own
exercise routine, now that the gym has changed to Crossfit, I'm
continuing with the group workouts. I feel better, my stamina and
recovery time are both vastly improved, I'm in much better shape, and
I'm stronger. I enjoy the group training classes, and I'm convinced that
Crossfit has helped me maintain a healthier and more fit lifestyle-to
be honest, there are days that I think the workout of the day is too
strenuous and I'm tempted to skip it, but I'm able to overcome that
feeling because I know I need to do the workout, and I also know that my
Crossfit coach will help me get through it-it's a great sense of
accomplishment to look back at the workout once you've completed it and
know that you challenged yourself and successfully met that challenge.

 Geoff Corbin
Dear Crossfit Decatur Team:
My positive experience with Crossfit Decatur started with a physical transformation.
But with Ben’s coaching also comes a bunch of traits that I have found indispensable to that transformation. His coaching is at once inspirational, expert, intense, precise, and relentless. With Ben’s guidance I have not only dropped from 196 lbs. to consistently under 160 lbs. in approximately six months, but I have also gained considerable strength and confidence.
I use this newfound strength and confident to run the 5k fast several times weekly, I have participated in the gymnastics certification, and finally, at the age of 41, I have become an athlete. There’s not enough space here to elaborate on all the ways that becoming an athlete has benefited my life. But in my role as parent to my eight-year old son Josh it has meant the world to us both.
Dropping significant weight and eating correctly has improved my health such that I lost hypertension completely, quit all medications, and extended years to a poor heart valve.
On an emotional level, my personal connection to my daily workout group and coach is one of my most treasured relationships. Of course, accompanying such a dramatic physical transformation are more positive benefits. But I’ll suffice to say that I am still amazed at how attention to good form, a really hard workout for time, and consistently stellar coaching in a supportive gym can so change a life for the better.

I HATE to workout! But I LOVE how I feel afterward and I know its so good for me in so many ways Not just physical. I have been coming to Crossfit Decatur for about 5 months now. My very first day I was so out of shape that I had to lie down during the WARM-UP! Eric never made me feel bad about it. He was so encouraging and positive it made me want to come back the next day and the next even though I could barely do anything. Now I am working out every day with Ben. Doing more than I ever imagined I could in such a short time. Ben is my support, my fan, my friend, my coach and my nutritional guru. He is so much more than a trainer. He motivates me everyday. My ultimate goal is to lose 30 pounds which I am on my way to doing. Right now I am so happy that I have the support of everyone at Crossfit and that I am getting stronger everyday. I know I will reach my goal! thank you Eric and Ben and everyone else for being so amazing. You have a client and friend for life!

My first day at the gym was BRUTAL and it was all because of that
HORRIBLE "WOD". The WOD was so rough that I've blocked it out of my
mind. I do however remember the PAIN and not being able to move or dress
myself because I was sooooooooooooo sore. I cried. BUT since I am not a
quitter, I decided to go back the next few days after that work out and
have NOOOOOOOOOO REGRETS. I love working out and I especially love the
camaraderie at Crossfit Decatur.

Hello Eric & Patrick,
Just an FYI...I was somewhat apprehensive about visiting your facility based on the video; it was a little intimidating for me.
Upon arrival and after the introductions & instruction... IT WAS BY FAR THE BEST WORKOUT I'VE ever had.
I can't stop sharing with anyone who will listen.
Keep up the great work.

FRAN!
I've only completed Fran once, somehow when it recently came up, I was absent that day (smile). The thrusters, No Problem! The Pull-ups, a major challenge for me! This workout was the first time in workout history that I almost had to find a trashcan in the middle of the workout. Some how with the help of my coach Eric Willis encouraging me to keep going, I was able to complete the workout blisters and all, RX in around 12 minutes. Not a great time by any means but this was when everyone had just started working on pull-ups, so it was a big accomplishment for me and at that time it was good enough to get my name up on the board! After that workout, I invested in a pair of gloves right away! The workout hurt, but in the end I was glad I did not give up. Pull-ups are something I probably would have never tried on my own, so thanks to Crossfit Decatur, I was able to push myself further than I thought I could go.

 Suzanne Ingram
I have been working out at CrossFit Decatur since March of 2007. Ijoined because although I liked to exercise everyday, I was bored with
the machines and classes that you find at most fitness centers. It was
taking too much time out of my day for very little reward. For the
amount of time and effort put in, I should have been the size of a
pencil. Anyway, I happened upon CrossFit Decatur and found a style of
exercising that really works. The efficiency of the time put in for
the reward started to show up right away. Although I have lost some
weight, what I have mostly, and more importantly, gained is better
overall health, increased flexibility, better balance, and greater
strength. All of that adds up to a much improved self confidence and
self esteem.
Another unexpected benefit would be that the other folks who show up to workout
become almost like an extended family. You struggle and succeed with
them everyday. I especially like that I am in a group of all ages and all body types
so that no one has to feel self conscious. We encourage each other and there is
a great sense of community.
What has impressed me about CFD, is the personal training that you get
even within a class setting. All of the coaches are great about
constantly checking clients to make sure they are using correct form
which is essential in preventing injuries. I have never had this
attention to detail from any other facility. Every coach is
excellent in providing motivation and encouragement to help you get
thru the really hard workouts. And speaking of really hard workouts....they are indeed that...but, what a feeling of
accomplishment when you are finished. I have never been pushed so hard
and have never felt so good at the end of a 20 to 30 minute workout.
All of the muscle groups are worked throughout the week and my entire
body shape has changed for the better.
All the coaches are exceptional at what they do, but I want to send a
special "shout out" to Coach Ben Benson. He happens to be the coach for
the classes I attend and each day I continue to be impressed with his
knowledge and skills for this particular type of workout .Ben flawlessly
teaches each exercise by breaking it down into minute detail.
His coaching style keeps you from getting frustrated when you
are so tired that you want to quit. He is adamant that each of your
movements be the best that it can be. He is always available to talk about
improved nutrition and is eager to help you reach the goals you set for yourself.
Admirably, Ben not only talks the talk, he truly in the most
extraordinary of ways, walks the walk in exercise, nutrition, and
lifestyle.
So this is all to say, thank you CrossFit Decatur..and thank you Ben
and ALL of the coaches for making my days healthier and fun. I wish
more people would just give it a try. It will keep you from being
bored with exercise and you will be addicted in no time in the best
sort of way.
